Permanently restricted selling account due to Bad Buyer Experience (BBE) — is reinstatement ever possible?

Hi all,
My eBay selling account recently received a permanent selling restriction due to my Bad Buyer Experience (BBE) rate being above the market average. The defects driving this were a few out-of-stock cancellations and a couple of cases closed without seller resolution, mostly from a few months ago. There have been no new issues since.
I've contacted eBay support multiple times (email and live chat) and been told consistently that this restriction is permanent, there's no manual reinstatement process, and no timeframe for appeal — but that I'd be notified directly if anything changes in the future.
Has anyone here actually had a "permanent" BBE restriction reversed or reinstated down the line? Did eBay reach out proactively, or was there something specific you did that led to a review? Just trying to understand if this is genuinely final or if there's realistic hope down the road.

Mentor1 month agoUnfortunately if no time limit was given for the suspension then it is permanent and cannot be appealed. We have never heard of anyone getting reinstated from a permanent suspension. Do not try to open another account as eBay will suspend that one also.

Never heard of any sellers getting a permanent restriction reversed.
