permanent interruption screen?

Question

You know those "pardon our interruption" "Checking your browser before you access ebay" sceens that now sometimes come up? Well, tonight I'm getting ones that appear to be permanent, such that I simply cannot view the item or the list I want to. I've had one up for hours without it going through. What is up about this? What can I do to browse ebay? My computer recently did a restart; could that be involved? Thanks,

Double clicking seems to work; still no idea how this came about or what it means though
