Performance and Sales report
As ebay calculates my net sales, does the number consider what I've paid for shipping costs? I presume the "Total sales" contains the shipping amount that the buyer has paid.
Thanks for your help.

Mentor3 years agoIf you are looking at the sales performance report here - https://www.ebay.com/sh/performance/sales - actual shipping costs are part of the selling costs deducted to arrive at net sales. See the breakdown of selling costs on the chart.

OP3 years agoI'm a touch slow with finances, so bear with me. I charge the buyer a fee for shipping. He sends me the cost of the won item plus his payment to me for the shipping. It seems to me like this would be a wash, so the net profit should not contain shipping amount. What am I missing?

Mentor3 years agoYou don’t have to charge the buyer the exact amount you pay for shipping - most sellers charge retail and pay a discounted rate. So there is profit contained in the shipping charge.
Your sales always include all payments you receive, even if you charge the exact amount for shipping. Your actual shipping is an expense you deduct.
