People selling items
There has to be some way to get eBay to update at where sellers have to provide the tracking number.I just got ripped out of forty dollars because of seller did not provide the tracking number They Updated the tracking after the fact that I reported that I didn't get the item And now I have 2 more items that are shipping untracked. And i'm worried about getting ripped off again

If tracking shows delivery, but nothing arrives, contact the shipping service to determine if the tracking corresponds to a delivery to your address.
If you can obtain hard copy documentation that the tracking does not correspond to a delivery to your address, contact eBay via social media and explain that you have a case of "false tracking" and you should be given the opportunity to provide your documentation to eBay via direct message. This is different than the usual "item not received" case which is handled automatically and which allows the seller to win by providing tracking that shows delivery.

You can avoid many issues entirely by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior, or sellers offering deals that are "too good to be true".

OP1 year agoShould be on the buyer to make sure that the product reaches its destination correctly and rightly.1 and 2 eBay should be checking these tracking Numbers to make sure they They correspond with the Correct address on the shipping. Why should that be on me I will make sure that they are legit before Before purchasing but I wish there was a way to show if you are purchasing an item if that the gonna provide a tracking number or not They shouldn't not be allowed to do shipping untracked I can't understand that on bubble mailers And I did check the person that I bought that from. They only have one negative comment and they had several different positive comments.I still got ripped out of money

The problem is not sellers that are not providing tracking numbers; if the seller does not provide any tracking at all, it is trivial to win an "item not received" case and get a refund.
eBay already requires a tracking number once a user files an "item not received" case. Your dodgy seller is providing a tracking number -- a false one. That is the problem, not eBay's requirements.
Scammers understand how eBay works better than most honest users, and scammers exploit privacy protection in the systems used by various shippers to defraud users and eBay. So it is better to avoid dealing with scammers in the first place. Once you are involved in a transaction with a scammer, the scammer ensures that getting a refund is as hard as possible because the scammer is willing to lie convincingly in order to keep your money, putting the burden on the buyer to prove that the seller is providing false information.

OP1 year agoThis makes a lot of sense I just don't want to get scanned together I purchased two more items that were on track , so I am just concerned with getting my money taken and not getting any Any items again like I did last time Ans loose out of my money , so these scammers Are just ridiculous they should Actually do investigation instead of taking ten seconds to say nope it reached its destination And they should remove them from being able to sell after somebody provides proof that they're scamming Ebay should be a safe community Where people can sell and buy without having too worry about being ripped off Thanks for your advice.I will definitely from now on i will Do my due diligence and look up these tracking numbers and contact the shipping partner With what is provided when I don't get the item I never thought I'd have to worry about this with ebay is what i'm saying Maybe I'll start eating another site or finding a different one

Mentor1 year agoKicking scammers off eBay is a good thing that eBay already does -- but that does not help all the folks that get scammed before that happens, nor does that mean that scammers will not lie and register new accounts or hijack existing accounts and continue scamming.
There is no such thing as a community that is open to everyone as both buyers and sellers where people enter into transactions with complete strangers online without having to worry about being ripped off.
