Paypal Payments Not Using Default Credit Card as Defined in Paypal
I have both a personal and a business credit card defined in Paypal. The personal card is the default payment method in Paypal. I have confirmed this repeatedly.
Every eBay purchase I have made in the last six months has been charged to my business credit card (the non-default choice) in Paypal. When I make the purchase in eBay, there is no longer a confirmation screen asking me to choose the payment method from the choices within Paypal.
Last time I contacted eBay, they said it is a Paypal problem and when I contacted Paypal they said it is an eBay problem. Now I cannot even contact a human at eBay and the AI bot is, uhhh, not quite there yet.
I have been using eBay for over 20 years and Paypal since its inception soon after. I know how to use a computer. I can confirm that this problem only occurs when I am using eBay, whether on the mobile app on on my desktop computer. Any other Paypal purchases always take me to the confirmation screen where I can choose the payment method within Paypal. eBay does not allow me to choose, and further, it automatically chooses the non-default payment method. I see no way to set the default payment method *within* Paypal in eBay -- I see the ability to set Paypal in general as the default payment method only.

Mentor1 year agoDeleting your PayPal entry on your eBay Payments page will allow you to go from eBay checkout to your PayPal wallet page to specify a payment method when checking out.
If PayPal will not allow you to set the default payment correctly when choosing PayPal at eBay checkout or specifying payment for a bid or an offer through PayPal, you may be better off linking those cards directly to eBay instead of going through PayPal. That way you can see exactly which card is being used when placing a bid or making an offer, or when checking out.
You do not need to link your PayPal account to eBay at all, unless you are using a PayPal payment method for bids or offers that require prepayment.

Then go to your payment method and remove/replace PayPal: https://ppcapp.ebay.com/myppc/wallet/list
