PayPal payment
I have several methods of payment in my PayPal wallet. The credit cards have large rewards dollars accrued on them for intended Ebay purchases. I cannot use these rewards when I have a winning price offer or I use buy now. The entire purchase price is charged to my card. Why can't I use the rewards for payment through PayPal?

·1 year agoTo set the funding source that PayPal uses when you have an automatic payment to eBay, go to paypal.com, click the settings (gear) icon at top right, select Payments then Automatic Payments, scroll down the left column until you find eBay (might have to click a button to show more at the bottom a few times), click that and select from the available (or add more and select that) payment methods. Not all payment methods are available for automatic payments (specifially PP Credit and Pay in Four); if it is an auction you have 1 hour after winning to checkout manually where they are (unless otherwise unavailable for that purchase) available.

Mentor1 year agoFor auctions or offers if the seller requires a payment method in advance, you may have to provide a payment method at the time you place your bid or make your offer. That payment method will be remembered by eBay for the next time you need to provide a payment method for an auction or offer, and that method will be indicated on your eBay Payments page. This may be easier to do directly through eBay rather than indirectly through PayPal.
If you mean that when you check out of eBay and select PayPal, you are not able to choose a specific payment method in your PayPal wallet but one is automatically selected for you, in that case go to your eBay Payments page in your eBay account and delete the entry for PayPal that appears there.

The next time you check out on eBay and choose PayPal, you should be sent to your PayPal wallet page and given a chance to pick a specific payment method.

OP1 year agoThanks, but I don't have a problem choosing my PayPal payment method. My problem is that I have $155 in rewards dollars on a credit card to pay for a $80 Ebay purchase. The reward dollars clearly show available when I get into PayPal, but if I am making a "Pay Now" or "Best Offer" transaction with that card, I am unable to use the rewards dollars. My full purchase amount is placed on the credit card without an opportunity to pay with the rewards dollars. Why can't I choose to pay with the rewards? The money available is much more than the purchase. Sometime in the past I used to pay by using the rewards and suddenly it stopped awhile back.
Why??

That is probably something you will have to ask your credit card issuer about.
