Payouts and shipping labels
Does the Net amount that is paid out include shipping deducted? I sold an item and the Net was 92.81, but my payout was $12.88 less than that. That is the price of two shipping labels, so that's why I'm asking.

Your shipping labels can be paid for with PayPal or deducted from your pending funds. You'll see these options on the shipping label creation page:
Whatever your setting is "sticks" until/unless you change it.

Are you sure you don't mean that the $ 92.81 is the GROSS and the Net was less the $ 12.88? That's about 13.9% in fees. No, eBay does not deduct your shipping cost from the total for the payout, they charge you separately for the label when you purchase it from them.

OP2 years agoNo, the gross was just over $114.00, $92.81 after their 13.5% fees. From that I only got a payout of $67.54, a difference of $25.27. The two shipping labels are $12.88 for both. Where's the only $12.39?

Go to the sold item on your See all orders page, click the blue number right above the listing's picture. The transaction details will open, look over on the right and it will show you a breakdown of fees, etc. On this flow they DO show how much you paid for a shipping label. Once you see what the charges were for let us know.

OP2 years agoThe item sold for $100.00. The fees were $8.25 shipping ($6.44 charged to me), $6.00 sales tax for a total of $114.25. The 13.25% fees on that were $15.44 (including a .30 fee). Add and subtract those for a total of $98.81 then subtract the $6.00 in tax and you have a payout of $92.81, the amount they say is Net.

Mentor2 years ago@kavcinks06 The Sales tax is a pass through value, yes, Sellers are charged Fees on it but eBay collects that money and sends it to the state in question (the Buyer's state). So the Sales tax money never physically goes through the eBay to Seller Payout process. Sales tax is also NOT included on the annual 1099K if one is issued.
