Payout not arrived - sent to a closed account
Summary: lindabelle66 is experiencing issues with a payout of £48 from eBay, as the funds were sent to a recently closed account. After multiple conversations with both their bank and eBay, they received conflicting information about the resolution. jacbarcollectibles advised that the inquiry should be directed to eBay UK, due to different rules, and suggested that typically, the funds would be returned to eBay for reassignment to a new account.
I sold an item on EBAY and requested the payout of £48 be sent on 29th August. Within minutes of requesting the payout i realised that i had closed the account recently, and after what seemed like hours trying to get through to EBAY, was told the payout would be recalled and credited back to my account. My bank have washed their hands of the issue and say its an EBAY problem. I have spoken to EBAY again this morning (05/09) and been told a completely different story, that they will send me a letter saying the payment has been sent and requesting that my bank pay it.
Help please! Im going round an round in circles and not getting anywhere, and it is a significant amount of money!

Mentor1 month agoYou are asking this question on the eBay USA site. Each site has different rules so it would be hard to answer a question from another site. You need to log out of this site and then log onto the eBay UK site and ask the mentors there for assistance.
I do not know how the UK banking works but in the USA the bank would have sent the funds back to eBay and eBay would have asked you for new bank account information to send the payout to.
