Payments on hold.
I haven't sold anything on Ebay for several years now so there's a hold on payment of two necklaces I've recently sold. Ebay wants me to go ahead and send the necklaces and then hope I get paid at a later date. There's too much money involved so I can't feel good about sending valuable jewelry to a PO box and then hope I get paid at a later date.

You sold two items, one for $ 14,000 and the other for $ 3,300. What the hold does is cover the eBay Money Back Guarantee 30 day period in the event of a return for a refund. The funds on hold can be used for that purpose should it happen.
New and low activity Selling accounts and transactions at or above $ 1,000 can have their funds held.

Mentor7 months agoWhen you list on eBay, sell on and through eBay, the buyer pays through eBay, and you purchase the shipping label through eBay, you will be paid.
Definitely. You need not "hope." It might take up to 30 days, but you will be paid.
I'd feel very safe in shipping anything to a Post Office box, at a United States Postal Service, than to almost any street address in the nation. You will know that the item/envelope/package will be placed inside a metal-framed box, like a cubby hole, inside the Post Office, and that the recipient can only retrieve the item by opening that box with a key.

·7 months agoIf you don’t ship it, you won’t ever get paid. When you are a new seller, or one returning after an extended break, you are subject to holds on your payouts. They’ll normally hold the payment for 30 days (and they hold payments for 30 days for ALL sellers if the item sells for $1000 or more)
If you cancel, you’ll receive a defect against your account that can affect your ability to sell here in the future.
