Payment must be received within one hour?
OK, have made hundreds of purchases from same seller in the past and always paid fast! Noticed today that when bidding on multiple items the first one showed after I won that payment must will be made via my current payment method within one hour! Why, as I have many other items I bid on don't end until a few hours later!!

Mentor1 year ago@purplezeke This is a setting on the sellers account. A buyer can not turn off auto pay.
You should have seen a pop up before placing a bid asking you for your preferred payment method. If you see that pop up before bidding then you know that the seller requires immediate payment at close of auction.
Some sellers do not realize that eBay turns on the option to require a payment prior to making a bid or offer by default.
Sellers can uncheck the option in their account settings.
You could ask sellers prior to bidding if A ) they allow combined shipping and B) do they know if they have the payments required option before placing a bid auto checked by eBay as this makes combined shipping more difficult.
Sellers can still combine by refunding the difference but eBay can't force a seller to send a partial refund after a order is made. Most sellers will make a partial refund.

eBay has changed the way autopay works to allow buyers to purchase more items and take advantage of a sellers combined shipping. Sellers had asked eBay for this option.
If you have payment required before placing a bid AND combined shipping selected in account settings then buyers will start seeing the option to keep shopping for 7 days.

Mentor1 year agoYour description tells me that the seller has turned on the Auto Pay option for auctions. This requires winners to pay within one hour or their payment method will be charged at that time. If the seller has set their auctions up with combined shipping then the limit extends to seven days. So it sounds like the seller does not offer combined shipping on their listings so you have to pay within the hour.
Only your seller can change this setting.
