Payment Hold Baloney
I've been with eBay for 18 years.
I have 100% feedback with well over 5100 sales.
I'm not a "professional" seller, just small time.
I've been active on the site as a buyer just as long.
But because I haven't sold anything for the last 12 months eBay decides to hold my sales money.
They got their massive fees, but I have to wait until my item is "delivered" to the customer.
Doesn't matter if I am a honest person with proof. I get treated like I just walked in from off the street.
I cancelled my other listing because I was told that item would be held also.
"We appreciate you!" <-- no, you don't.
This is so wrong on so many levels.

Mentor8 months agoIt is clearly indicated in the Ebay pages that new/infrequent sellers are subject to payment holds.

"New or infrequent sellers will experience transaction holds while learning best selling practices, becoming established, and building a strong selling history on eBay. New sellers typically receive their funds within 30 days, although sometimes it may be longer:

I am not a "new" seller. I've been here for 18 years. During that time I have also been a top rated seller (many times). The only reason I am not a top rated seller at the moment is because of sales volume. In the 18 years I have been here I have never had holds placed on my account. I have a $5 million dollar selling limit and a 5 million limit on listings. PER MONTH. I have 100% positive feedback, with one neutral several years ago. Does that sound like a high risk, new seller to you?
In any rate, this is not how you should treat long term, trusted members of your platform just because of low sales volume.

No, that sounds like a terrific seller, one from whom I would buy without hesitation. The snag is, for your far past track record to be taken into account, it would have to be considered by a human. eBay is just a giant computer program, and it is programmed to consider only the seller's recent activity, or if not "only" then primarily. Always remember: computers are stupid, they do what they're told.
Is it such a burden to wait for a payment to be released? Especially if you know the delay will be temporary. All my working life, I've had to wait for a paycheck to be issued. Sometimes on the 1st, sometimes the 30th, sometimes the 1st and 15th, etc. Unlike my paycheck, though, after a while your delay will be lessened until finally it's gone altogether.
It would be a shame for eBay to lose a seller like you. Well, a shame not only for eBay, but for all those future buyers who wouldn't have a chance to experience your great service.

Mentor8 months agoI concur that you are not a "new" seller, but you are an infrequent seller, so the Ebay payout holds (as quoted above) DO apply.
EDITED TO ADD: Since you sold a high priced item, the payout from that sale will be subject to a hold on payout. According to Ebay: "High priced items may lead to transaction holds for up to 30 days to help us ensure that buyers don't have any issues with the order"
