payment hold
I recently sold an item. Ebay notified there is a payment hold. Just got my 10 year badge, no disputes, and 100% positive feedback. Now I'm afraid to send my item out. This has never happened. I haven't listed in about 6 months is the only reason I can think of. Thoughts or solutions? Too bad they don't have a customer service phone or email that I know of.

You cannot withhold shipping due to payout holds.
"New or infrequent sellers will experience transaction holds while learning best selling practices. This helps sellers become established and build a strong selling history on eBay. New sellers typically experience holds for up to 14 days, although sometimes it may be longer."
Badges & feedback ratings do not pertain to payout holds.

OP3 years agoWasnt planning on withholding shipping. This has just never happened before so I was leary of the reasoning. Been selling for 11 years and wanted a helpful reason. Must be a new to me policy. Thank you

OP3 years agoIm infrequent because I dont have a store and just sell what I have around the house once in awhile

According to your feedback profile page, it has been over a year since you have sold anything, so Ebay would consider you an infrequent seller.
Also since you sold a high priced item, Ebay will hold funds until item has been delivered to buyer and buyer is satisfied. According to Ebay: "High priced items or unusual selling patterns may lead to transaction holds for up to 30 days to help us ensure that buyers don't have any issues with the order."
There is no need to be "afraid to send" your item out. As long as Ebay has notified you that the buyer has paid and provided their shipping address, you can send.
