Payment
I'm looking to purchase a vehicle from someone. I have 5 days to test the car without direct payment. The will need to send the funds to eBay and if I agree to the sale. I can then instruct eBay to pay the seller. Is this true?

It is a HUGE SCAM!!! All of it.
Ebay does NOT handle car sales found on other websites. Ebay does NOT hold the funds for the seller (the scammer).
STOP all communication with this criminal trying to steal your money.
REPORT the phony ad to the website you used to find the vehicle advertised.

Mentor2 years agoHi @lybutte-99
Glad you asked before losing your money.
This is a common scam, and you are dealing with a criminal who is trying to steal your money.
eBay has nothing to do with listings on other sites. If the item isn't listed on the eBay website and if you don't purchase it through the eBay listing, the transaction has nothing to do with eBay.
You can read eBay's warning here:

You can read the FBI's warning here:

You can report the listing to the site where you found it.
