I think you mean you contacted the Buyer not the Seller. New Sellers can and do have their funds placed on hold, read about it here: Payments on hold | eBay
Additionally, this assumes you have provided eBay with your banking information and SSN: Getting paid for items you've sold | eBay
You also have nothing else for sale on this ID that you posted with today.
