Paying outside eBay
Purchased something through an eBay seller. The seller insisted that I pay for it outside of eBay and would not send me an invoice. Became threatening and insisting on more and more information after I giving him too much
This doesn’t seem right after all these years on this site

Mentor2 years ago@chevy66conv That is NOT right. You always pay using eBay checkout. The only exceptions would be for something like a vehicle or a classified ad listing. A seller doesn't need to send an invoice for you to pay, you just pay using eBay checkout. Are you SURE this item is listed on eBay.com? What is the item number or link to the listing?
You should report the seller for trying to take the sale outside of eBay>
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022 The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies> Seller offered to sell a listed item outside of eBay Supply the sellers user name and copies of any eBay messages.
IF the seller cancels the sale using the reason "buyer hasn't paid " then be sure to contact customer service to have the strike removed from your account.
Here's how to contact eBay customer service:
