Paying for replacement of defective item. I want replacement charge to go through eBay.
I purchased a defective item. It’s past the 30 day return window. The seller wants to charge me to replace the item. I shouldn’t have to pay anything for a replacement but…they want me to pay through PayPal outside of eBay.
#1 - I’m a new seller. I don’t want to do anything outside of eBay because I don’t want to lose my account.
#2 - I don’t use PayPal. I want the transaction to go through eBay. If I were to receive another defective product I want to be able to return it.
Can someone please advise me?

If the seller wants to charge you for a replacement at a discount, the seller can create a listing for you. The seller can state an extravagant price on the listing, so no one else will buy, and then instruct you to make an offer at the agreed upon price. That way, the new transaction will go through eBay.
