Paying 20% in fees now
My eBay rating is "below standard" due to about 20-25 items in a 3-4 months span from older listings that were low priced and snagged as BIN but I had sold months earlier via our Whatnot shows. I've had 3 returns out of about 1000 items and now my volume on here has shifted as frankly paying 11% in fees live on whatnot is better. I'm currently getting automated stuf from ebay about my seller account is at risk due to the 5% defect rate as I dont sell a ton of items. My g=fees now get hit with a 6% additional fee.
Ive emailed eBay asking to remove this saying that we have separated our inventory but never hear back. Is this just somethign that "is what it is?"
I dont want to invest much more into this as the fees are wild now and I just dont have the volume to sell more and lower my defect rate. Seems like this is permanent purgatory?

eBay will not remove the defects. As you correctly noted, the only way to get your defect rate back below 2% is to sell more. Using the monthly breakdown on your dashboard, you can calculate the sales you would need in May to get below 2% for your 6/20 evaluation.
Since you have a store, you can use the sales tools. Running a buy one get one x% off is a good way to quickly up your sales volume. So you need to determine if it is worthwhile - only you can make that decision.
Good luck.
