Patent infringement lawsuit
I bought a product from Alibaba to resell on eBay, now I am being sued by a lawyer in Illinois stating the product that I was selling has a patent on it and I have violated patent infringement laws.
EBay has removed the product from my store. On eBay's site, EBay states if the email comes from eBay there will be a copy in my messages on the eBay site, however I do not see that message in my eBay account, but I do have an email with all the lawsuit information which I have verified that lawsuit is actually real and has been filed in the eastern district of Illinois. The one thing that lawsuit is missing is Scheduled A which states who all the defendants are. Supposedly his lawsuit is still sealed.
Has any one had this happen to them before, and what was the outcome? I was going to set up an appointment with an Attorney today to see what the deal is as the lawsuit states I have 21 days to respond once I received the email.
