Partial refunds - 2nd try
how can I do a partial refund if the seller declined the first response in error. They only want half returned, system is only giving me option to do a full refund - how do I resolve?

Could you provide some more information:
-How many items were sold on the one transaction?
-Did the Buyer file an official return through eBay and that is how you are trying to refund?
-On any Sold item you can use the drop down menu on the right and scroll down to Send refund and process one from there BUT, the Buyer may have to close their return claim before you can do that.
-Typically, an official eBay return is for the entire purchase NOT individual items.

OP5 months ago2 items, one was broken and yes buyer filed official return. In a message buyer asked for 1/2 refund, which I processed. Buyer declined in error and asked me to resubmit the partial refund.
I think what you are saying is if buyer cancels refund request, then I should be able to just go in and refund her half the price. Hoping that works! Thanks

Yes, the Buyer has to cancel the return on their end, that closes the return. After that you can still refund on each of the items via the method I described.
Sadly, after almost 30 years eBay still has NOT figured out how to set up individual returns on a multi-purchase transaction ...
