Partial refund vs full refund

Question

I had a buyer that did not have his correct address on file with EBay. I mail within 1 day. He contacted me after the item was already mailed and said his address was incorrect. Long story short my item was returned to me by USPS. Should I refund the total amount he paid including the shipping he paid or just refund the item price and tax since it was his fault the item was returned to me?

@crystalngreensburg Refund the item price only. Ebay will refund the tax separately.
