Part does not fit and eBay Motors said it would- Ebay not honoring
I purchased a headlight for my vehicle recently. I entered my car details into the garage and the site showed that the part was compatible with my vehicle. Upon receiving the part I was immediately able to determine that the part was not compatible. I did not install, use, or remove the part from the entirety of the shipping material. The seller stated that he would not accept returns on the sale ad, however all over the main web page for eBay there is a notification about the guaranteed fit policy. The headlights are not a component that is exempt from the policy either. I contacted the seller and he immediately refused the return. I then escalated it to eBay support and provided details about the problem. Support declined the return and indicated that the search result showed to check the seller's description. Why if the seller placed an image of the eBay Guaranteed Fit logo as his second picture is he not responsible?
Item number: 266367333953
The seller even included in his second picture an image of the eBay guaranteed fit logo.
What steps can I take?

·2 years agoLet me guess, you chose Didn't Fit as the reason for the return?
If you did, that's considered a remorse return and the seller can deny the return if they don't accept returns.
Since the listing said it would fit, but didn't, it would be Item Not As Described.
You opened the wrong case and that's why Ebay won't help.
If you paid through Pay Pal, open a case with them, but you'll have to pay return shipping.

OP2 years agoI made another call to the agents and finally got them to look at the auction and see that the seller included a copy of eBays green checkmark in their auction. As of this moment the agent said he will reopen the appeal and I should hear back shortly.

·2 years agoSo the seller put it in and not Ebay?
Sounds good and hope it works out.
If not, you can always go to your funding source.
