paid out the ass for a shipping label
Hey, I am a novice ebay user. I later found out that I paid a massive $84 to ship a small box to a buyer using USPS Ground. I did not notice the details until after I shipped out the box and was looking at transaction details. This box must have been way smaller that ebay thought it was when I purchased the shipping label. The post office still my package. Looks like it weighed only 2lbs 13oz. How could they charge me this much and could I get any type of reimbursement because it should not have cost that much the ship?

That is a hard lesson to learn and for new Sellers we see many mistakes made in the area of shipping before they get it figured out.
-First, you are offering Free Shipping which means we cannot see what shipping would cost based on the weight and package dimensions you put on the listing when you created it. Plus that setting means YOU pay for shipping but the Buyer does not. You need to change tot he Calculated setting in the shipping section on your listings so Buyer pay YOU to purchase the shipping label.
-When you print your labels through eBay you get a discount. If you make a mistake AND before you ship you can cancel a label on this page and get credit in 21 days or less on your account: Track and manage your shipments
You can then purchase another label correcting your errors.
-When you print your labels through eBay and based on the weight and dimensions on the print label page they show you the price you will pay, not sure how you missed not seeing that. The amount you owe is shown whether you print your label at home or use the QR code and get your label printed at the Post Office.
