Paid for item, Seller absent from account
I paid for an item and waited three days sent an email. There is no response only to look at the feedback of the seller who has a rating of two and the last sale was six months ago. I requested a cancellation eBay said it would take three days it has been longer than three days and I have not received a refund. I might have to take it up with my credit card company for future reference. How can a person bid or buy an item on eBay and find out if the seller is active. It’s a waste of my time and money to be sending money to someone that isn’t there.

·1 year agoYour request for cancellation after you paid will only go through if the seller approves it within 3 days. If s/he rejects it or doesn't respond, it does not go through.
The way to check on the seller is to do the things you did but do them BEFORE you commit to buy the item, not after.
A seller is not required to inform you that the item has shipped or otherwise respond to your messages. That does not mean s/he hasn't shipped the item. If you don't get a package from the seller (or full refund) by the time the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there. If you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund.
