Paid and received my product..... BUT.
I purchased and item on eBay and paid for the item through PayPal. As I understand it, when the item is paid for and confirmation of payment has been made. The seller then ships the item. In this case, I paid for the item through PayPal and the item was shipped to me. However, the seller is saying that he never received the money. I did some research and found out that on occasion, eBay will hold the money until they make sure everything is in order prior to releasing the funds to the seller. The seller is asking me, why he hasn't received his money. My bank says payment was sent to PayPal and my PayPal account says the money was routed to eBay for the item in question. What should I do next, because I don't want this to put me on the bad buyers list.

If you used eBay Checkout and selected PayPal as the payment method, the seller will get the payment when eBay processes the transaction.
You can leave positive feedback when the item arrives.
Advise the seller to contact eBay or to come here, and we'll show him where to look for his payment. (It won't be in his PayPal, it will come to his bank account)

eBay will not release the payment until the item is shipped. For new sellers, it can take up to 30 days after delivery for them to receive their payout.

Seller ships
eBay pays the seller.
If the seller is asking for payment another way, you should report the message.
Is that what's happening?
If the seller never ships, you can file an Item Not Received case to get your refund.

OP1 year agoThe seller is asking for payment and wants to know why it hasn't hit his bank account yet. I have confirmed on my end the payment was taken from my bank account and I just sent him the transaction ID, so he knows that I haven't stiffed him. As I mentioned before I have the item. In fact I ordered the same item (EV speaker) from someone in the states and they have their money already. I'm just trying to be fair about it and not leave him to figure it out on his own. All the info gained will help me in any future transactions as well. I really appreciate your help in this matter.

The seller doesn't have your address to ship the item until the payment is paid through eBay. So the seller has money in his account, but it may not be ready to be paid out yet.

There are a couple of steps the money goes through.
- Processing
- Payment Holds (if any)
- Payout, which happens automatically after any holds.
I hope this helps. You don't have to respond to the seller if he is too demanding.
