Packaging materials type
I want to make certain that I am following the eBay policies for shipping and packaging and that I absolutely CAN use USPS-branded boxes — but only if:
- You ship via the matching USPS service
- Example:
- Priority Mail box → must ship Priority Mail
- Priority Mail Express box → must ship Express
- Flat Rate box → must use Flat Rate pricing
I cannot mix:
- ❌ USPS Priority box + First-Class / Ground Advantage label
- ❌ USPS box + UPS or FedEx label
If you do, USPS can:
- Upcharge you
- Or return the package

Your assertions are correct. I would add on the flat rate boxes that you must use the corresponding flat rate pricing - a medium flat rate box needs a medium flat rate label, etc.
I don’t know that ups or fedex would really care if you reuse a usps box, as long as you take it to the correct carrier, but I would avoid it. USPS materials are meant for use with usps services only.
