Package shipped via Ebay International Shipping, but reportedly not received.
Hi. I mailed a package using ebay's international shipping - sent it to their hub in Illinois. Ebay mailed it from there. Just got a message from the buyer that the package was never received. There's a huge back and forth on the tracking info that says "out for delivery", then "undeliverable-returned to sender". Went back and forth from February 6th to February 21st. Then, all of a sudden, it says "delivered".
I wrote to the buyer that my tracking said it was delivered, and this is how they responded:
"No worries! I sent this earlier under a different item, cause for some reason the chat would not open on the purchased item: Hi Mel, how are you? I bought the two coca cola bottles from you last month from my workaccount with the verzetsmuseum in Amsterdam. Sadly the person with the password to out ebay account is not present, so I'm sending you a massage through my personal account. The package was not delivered by DHL and now is being send back to you I believe. I spoke with them and sadly as the receiver I cannot make them start an investigation to locate the package. The sender has to do so. The bottles are perfect for an exhibition I am working on and I would still really like to receive them. Could you contact DHL so they can start an investigation?"
I tried going into returns, but ebay thinks everything is good as everything says its been delivered. I wrote to the buyer that they will need to start a claim with ebay.
Is that correct? Any ideas on how I should handle this? Thank you!
