Package refused at customs: Name matches denied party/entity
I had a package returned with "Failed to meet export regulations, name matches denied party/entity" on the label. It might not even be the same person just a common name - plenty of those frustrations come back in google searches. I want to find out if eBay will refund any part of this transaction (part postage since the package never left the us - the post office seemed to think this is possible) my transaction fee or part of it? I would like to refund as much as I can to the buyer. How do I even initiate it? It isn't a return since the buyer didn't return it. I've searched for this case on eBay and google. No useful information so far. How does one even get a hold of an eBay person?

Mentor2 years agoThe buyer would have to file an Item Not Received case in order to get his money back. Here is the information I usually send to the BUYER:
Go to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an
Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.

OP2 years agoThanks for your reply! I found a menu item in the dropdown list for the sold item that allowed me to refund the amount of the sale with a reason of item not received. I didn't refund the shipping portion. If the buyer is unsatisfied I guess I'll have to eat the shipping.
