Package not scanned at post office

Question

I dropped off 11 boxes at the post office this morning. The clerk was alone and very busy, so I just left the boxes with him on the counter and he said he would scan them.

They all got scanned except for one which still says label created.

It was in Augusta Maine, from here I think everything goes to southern Maine distribution center.

When the unscanned package arrives there and it is scanned will my shipping status update?

Your shipping status should update at the next scan point, which I would think would be the distribution center. In the meantime, you can go on the USPS site and request tracking updates via text. That is different and quicker than filing a missing mail claim. Plus, I honestly think that doing that gets packages moving.
