Package not received
I’m going in circles with EBay automated system. I purchased an item that I never received. The tracking number provided by seller indicates the package was delivered somewhere in my city, not my residence. Looking at the Fed Ex tracker - a package is depicted on the front porch of a house that is not mine . However, the package looks too small to be my purchase.
The seller is not responding and EBay keeps saying package delivered - check around your address.
I tried opening a claim with Fed Ex- they tell me the seller must make the claim.
where do I go from here ? Help! This was a Christmas gift

Mentor2 years agoContact fedex to determine if the tracking number you received was for a package that was addressed to you - they can tell you if it was mid-delivered, or if the seller sent you a pirated tracking #.

If you contact fedex and ask was the package addressed to your address, they will give you a yes or no answer. They can't tell you where it was delivered.

OP2 years agoYes - Fed Ex won’t help as they say it was delivered …. I got scammed …. Wish EBay had better mechanisms to deal with this …. The seller has a good rating - 2k sales / that’s why i thought it was an honest mistake

Mentor2 years agoIf the seller has good feedback and history, it is probably an honest mistake. I'm sorry the seller isn't willing to help. I assume you have tried messaging the seller?
If eBay will not let you open a not received claim, and it is after the estimated delivery date, then I would go to your credit card issuer. Ask them to open a dispute for an item not received. You can explain that the delivery photo is not your address - they can add this to the claim to eBay.

OP2 years agoThanks - Fed Ex won’t share address information because I am not the shipper . They told me to contact seller to file a claim. Seller won’t communicate- eBay was given the fake tracking number by seller- so they closed my case saying the item was shipped . It’s one big circle…

OP2 years agoThanks - I did open a claim with my credit card - Ebay then notifies me saying they closed the case because they learned I opened a claim with my financial institution. I tell you, this has been a frustrating experience and dealing with EBay is strictly an automated system which is generalized. Once a tracking number is given and shown “delivered†EBay doesn’t care and the seller is cleared automatically…. They beat the system and ripped off the consumer..
