Package lost in the mail
Am I understanding correctly that if an item was shipped day after purchase to the buyer and the item stops tracking 12 days later, and buyer puts in a refund request, that I am responsible for refunding the buyer?
I used eBay shipping and tracking
That doesn't seem fair to the seller. Or is that just how it goes sometimes in business? The seller takes the cost...

Mentor10 months agoYes, the seller is responsible for refunding the buyer in full. If the item was shipped with insurance then you would file a claim with the shipping carrier for a lost package. Keep in mind that the shipping carrier will not consider the package lost until it has been 21 days without tracking showing movement. If the package does get delivered and you shipped the package in October then eBay will cover the refund you made unless the carrier paid the insurance claim.

OP10 months agoThank you. I did refund the buyer and put in a request to find the item and ship back to me if found. The risk you take with the postal service. Appreciate the confirmation and quick response
