Did you pay for additional insurance? If not, you can only file a claim for $100. If yes, you can file a claim for the full amount paid by the buyer.

You owe the buyer a full refund. Ask them to open a not as described return, then use the â€˜refund buyer nowâ€™ option. Ask the buyer for multiple photos of the package.

Use the photos to file a claim with the carrier. I assume it was usps - https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
