So eBay deleted my last post of hub tampering so I have escalated everything even higher up next step small claims

I didn't comment on your original post since @mr_lincoln was answering.

It sounds like eBay says the item was damaged or tampered with in the mailstream before it arrived.

File an insurance claim with USPS, they have photos and weights of your tracked package at several points along it's journey. They will be able to see if it was tampered with in transit.

You can also file a Postal Inspector mail theft report https://www.uspis.gov/report

If USPS says it wasn't tampered with in the mail stream, then you have useful information.

Damaged items are always delivered. I've rec'd many torn envelopes or magazines through the years.

Next time, ship an expensive item in a box. I would have double- or triple-boxed that item for safe arrival.
