Overdue delivery of a package
I purchased an item from a seller on here back on the 4th of this month and it has been in transit for a week. The post office mentions via the tracking number provided to me by the seller that the delivery of the item is "delayed at its current location and is being held awaiting payment". I have already contacted the seller about the issue and informed them of this and they apologized for the inconvenience and mentioned that they had an expired card on file at the time of the sale and are trying to get me pay the postage, which i refuse to do because i don't want to be double billed for something i'm not responsible for.
The package currently happens to be for reason across the country over in Indiana, which makes no sense at all considering that it is set to be delivered to me at home in Washington State.

Mentor5 months agoI would not pay the postage due, as there is no way that ebay can force the seller to reimburse you. I would let the carrier return the item back to the seller. Once it is past the last estimated delivery date by one day, you can file an Item Not Received case to get your money back.

OP5 months agoits already past the last estimated delivery date, and that was the 9th.
I also wrote the seller yesterday as soon as i discovered where the item was and told them to contact USPS to get the issue resolved and the seller has yet to respond back to me.

OP5 months agoI have no intention to pay the postage that is due, and according to usps, the package is delayed in transit from its current location and until i see that it is moving again and have confirmation that it is lost, i don't like the idea of asking the seller to cancel the order and send the refund.

Mentor5 months ago@coli.steve. Postage due is the ONE reason that you can refuse a package and still be covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
You file an item not received refund request and put in a note Postage due. Be sure to include a screen shot of the Postage due message.
Let me know if you have any trouble receiving your refund .

OP5 months agoI'm not the one who the post office is asking to pay the postage that is due. That responsibility falls completely on the seller who sold me the item and i've already brought that to their attention. So far all they've said back so far is "sorry for the inconvenience, would you like a refund or replacement?".
According to the post office, the item is delayed in transit and is currently over in Indiana. Until i know for sure that the package has been lost, i don't like the idea of asking to be refunded.

OP5 months agoI appreciate you willing to help with my situation and i understand the required steps to receive a refund from someone. However of the two choices presented to me in the request message window box that opened, I selected the option to receive the item, not to be refunded.
So i think the seller is confused about what i want from them.
