Overcharged Fedex Shipping

On 4 different occasions this month I have had "changes to my shipping labels" in the amount of $68 each time. Fedex claims my package was 80 pounds when in fact it was 25 pounds. I am in a never-ending loop with Ebay and Fedex, Ebay won't let you talk to a live person and Fedex won't talk to me because I don't have Ebays Account Number. They have essentially stolen $210 from me in extra shipping.

This feels very scammy on Ebays part and Fedex .

I have read so many threads about this happening with FedEx. Was it by chance a large box? Even if it weighs 25 pounds, the size of the box could raise the dimensional weight to 80 pounds. Here is from the FedEx site:

FedEx dimensional weight is a calculation used to determine the shipping cost based on the amount of space a package occupies, rather than just its actual weight. Carriers like FedEx use dimensional weight (also known as volumetric weight) to account for the space taken up by large, lightweight packages. The shipping cost is then based on the greater of either the actual weight or the dimensional weight.

How Dimensional Weight is Calculated

1. Measure the package: Determine the length, width, and height of the package in inches.
2. Multiply the dimensions: Multiply the length, width, and height together to get the cubic size of the package.
3. Divide by the DIM divisor: Divide the cubic size by a DIM divisor. For FedEx, the divisor is 139 for U.S., Puerto Rico, and international shipments when dimensions are in inches. For shipments in centimeters, the divisor is 5000.
4. Compare to actual weight: The resulting number is the dimensional weight. Compare this to the actual weight of the package. The higher of the two is used to calculate the shipping cost.

Example:

A package is 12 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 12 inches high. 12 x 12 x 12 = 1728 cubic inches.
Dividing by 139 (for inches), the dimensional weight is approximately 12.43 pounds.
If the package's actual weight is 10 pounds, the shipping cost will be based on the dimensional weight of 12.43 pounds.
