over 2 months on hold in customs
can i get a refund for an item i ordered over 2 months ago that i have not recieved? it has been on hold in customs for 2 months now. how can i call and talk to a real person?

It's been several years ago that I bought an electric bass from New Zealand. This instrument had a rosewood fretboard – rosewood had been added to the endangered species – but I had purchased all the necessary permits ($150 they cost, woah).
I tracked it as far as Customs in Chicago, and it apparently got stuck there. I was sweating bullets by the seventh day, and then the tracking showed movement again. A few days later, it arrived at my door.
That's only one person's experience, but that, plus common sense, would seem to indicate that two months is some sort of anomaly. I don't think eBay's customer service can help with this.
If it were my item, I'd try calling Customs. Do you know which location the item is stuck at? BTW, what is the item?

OPAug 11, 2026 at 10:53 PMit is a set of foot pegs and pedal shifters for a motorcycle. all metal parts. all it shows is it is being held by customs and no location.
