Outrageous Customer Service! Avoid eBay at All Costs!
I recently had hands down THE WORSE EXPERIENCE with any retailer. I spent $107 on a perfume, and it was NEVER DELIVERED to me. After many calls, FedEx confirmed that the tracking number the seller gave didn’t match my address—someone else somewhere in the same city got my package! eBay’s response? Since FedEx’s site claims the package was delivered in my city, eBay considers the sale complete and refuses to give me a refund!
This policy is absolutely ridiculous—so if your package ends up at some RANDOM address but shows up as “delivered” in your city, you’re out of luck. No help, no refund, just excuses. eBay and this seller are either totally incompetent or deliberately scamming customers. This is what I am gonna tell my family and friends: DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.
This type of horrible customer care on eBay's part will hurt not only me but also the good/reliable sellers and eventually eBay. You are warned!

OP5 months agoUpdate:
FedEx tells me over the phone that they cannot provide me the exact address of delivery but they state that the seller can ask Fedex to track the package. Seller don't respond to my emails

OP5 months agoFedex has confirmed many times to me that this tracking number package was NOT delivered to me but somewhere else. However, they don't provide this is writing. Their photo of delivery is blurry and unhelpful.
Ebay (including the social media team) is asking me to talk to the seller and FedEx and does not send me refund.
Ebay refuses to call directly FedEx and confirm my story.
The seller is not answering my message.
This is a conspiracy of scammers and poor customer care!
AVOID EBAY AND FEDEX AT ANY COST!

Mentor5 months ago@petkopte_0 That sounds VERY frustrating. This sounds like a false tracking number problem. This is an issue not just on eBay but with bad sellers on other sites too.
I see you did the first couple of steps.
b) If your name and address weren't on that label, ask the postal carrier if they will put this in writing. Also, ask for the weight of the package using that tracking number. Follow the rest of the steps here:
2) Then, report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "Suspicious seller activity"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller use a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
3) Finally, contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on social media this way:
https://www.instagram.com/ebay/
Just send a private message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you.

I will try.
I am extremely disappointed by eBay. Their policy is a joke. "Delivery in the same city" = "Delivery to you". This is essentially what they said!

Mentor5 months agoYes that's how the scammers get around the system. Since they don't use eBay shipping labels eBay only has publicly available tracking info. It's unfortunately on the buyer to prove that it was a fake delivery.
