Ordered an item that says the seller is in the US but the shipping label says China
I ordered an item and paid for it and the store on ebay says it is located in the US. However on the tracking info provided it says the label was created in China. The shipping label says it has been created but not dropped off so I asked to cancel the order. I was told that was not possible because the item has been dropped off. They do not accept returns. I am wondering what I can do. It says I should receive it by 1/28-1/29 which is not possible if it is shipping from China and today is 1/26 so I will file a claim that it did not arrive on time and see if I can get my money back. Just wonder if anyone else had dealt with something like that in the past and how they handled it. TIA

In addition to the advice you received from @lady_madonna and @eburtonlab , you can report the seller for misrepresenting the item location on the listing here:

Probably the best way to deal with sellers that misrepresent item location is to avoid them whenever possible. The "US only" item location filter selects items that are listed as being in the United States; however, as you have seen, not every seller that lists items in the US ships from the US as they should.
Before ordering you should check the estimated delivery dates -- that is a good indication of how far away items actually ship from. Also, going to a seller's profile page or feedback page will tell you where the seller's account was registered. Although some overseas sellers do use US warehouses to ship their items (and some registered US-sellers may employ drop-shippers), if a seller is registered overseas, that raises the likelihood of an item shipping from outside the US, particularly for multiple quantity commodity items. Checking seller feedback closely will often reveal if there are problems with long shipping times, canceled orders or other supply chain warning signs, particularly if buyers that encounter problems with drop-shippers leave feedback indicating that.

Mentor8 months agoYou will need to wait until the estimated date of delivery has passed in order to file a refund request.
IF/WHEN the latest estimated date of delivery has already passed by at least 1 day, you have up to 30 days past estimated date of delivery to file a Refund Request:
Go to your My Ebay page >> Purchase history
If the seller does not respond to the refund request, after 3 business days you can ask Ebay to step in to help you.
