Ordered a desktop memory kit, product was not as described. Missing memory module.
I ordered a memory kit that was supposed to include 3x memory modules. The seller description said the desktop memory included a 2 stick memory kit as well as a 4GB memory stick module. The main memory kit arrived and works fine. The problem is the seller said there was never an 4GB additional module and he is new to selling on Ebay. He said the Ebay AI made a mistake in listing the item. The item description clearly indicated the item for sale included 3 memory modules. The photo of the items had what looked like a 4 black 4GB stick in the background behind the main memory kit with a gray curtain type background.
I went back after a few weeks to look at the sellers history. Very limited transactions and has received negative feedback from two buyers since I purchased the memory. One claimed the seller sold an i7 processor and cancelled the listing after the buyer paid for the item. (Most likely because the winning bid was lower than the seller was willing to accept.)
The next negative feedback was for a graphics card. The seller appears to have not been happy with the selling price and cancelled the item saying it was damaged or unavailable and later listed the graphics card for sale a few days after cancelling the existing sale.
My gripe is that another ebay bidder tried to snipe me and bid up the memory kit because it came with an additional 4GB module. The other memory modules were 8GB. I think I would have won the item with my opening bid without any other bidders because the memory is quite old. I think if the Ebay sniper would have won the auction, they would have already listed negative feedback because the item was not as described.
My bid was based upon receiving 3x memory modules and not just 2. Based on the recent feedback of other buyers who purchased from this seller. He does not appear to be an honest seller. His claims of not understanding the Ebay listing process well seems to be a lie. I am basing this on cancelling two separate successful auctions because the winning bids were below what he wanted for his items.
It appears he is selling an older PC for parts and other ebay buyers are unhappy with the seller based on their negative feedback. It seems to me they have good reason to be leaving negative feedback. I am starting to wonder if the seller may have listed the missing 4GB module for sale in a separate auction after the sale completed.
I need advice, I am a long time Ebay customer with a 100% positive feedback as a buyer.
