Order canceled, seller claims I (buyer) canceled order

Question

I do not recollect doing anything to cancel this order--in fact, we were very much in need of the item.

However, I received a notice of cancellation with the reason "Buyer canceled order"

Is this even possible in the interface? This was the same day I placed the order, so I don't think it could have been a payment error.

Very confused.

The seller chose the reason "buyer cancelled" in order to avoid receiving a defect from Ebay on their selling account.

You can report the seller.

Choose "Suspicious seller activity"

Then on next page choose "Seller doesn’t want to complete the sale"

In the details you can state that you "did not request the cancellation" to the form & submit.
