Order arrived damaged, missing contents
Please advise: I ordered a pair of NIB Blundstone boots on Dec. 6, 2025. The package arrived in my mailbox the following week -- an unwrapped shoebox with no sign that it had ever been secured/taped. The box contained only one boot. A sticker from USPS on the label noted that it was "unsealed" and "without contents."
I messaged seller who insisted that they had taped the box (there was no sign that it had ever been taped) and said they would check with their postal agent. In the meantime, USPS told me that only the sender can apply for an insurance claim (which would roughly cover the price of the item). Since then, the seller has ghosted me. I've reached out repeatedly for them to respond and work toward a resolution and they never answer. Ebay tells me they aren't financially responsible and that I should "work with the seller" -- who won't respond. Short of leaving a negative review, which I have done, what recourse do I have?
