The fact that you quote an order number means somebody thought $37.85 was an acceptable price for that skein of yarn.
My selling ID has sold cross-stitch patterns at much higher prices than the original designer and/or publisher would ever have imagined would be possible.
Using this ID, monroe67, I once bought 17 skeins of six-strand cotton embroidery floss for around $120.00.
It's textbook supply and demand.
When a pattern is no longer printed but is still very popular, people are willing to pay more than the original price.
In the case of those embroidery flosses, the manufacturer had closed down. The threads are no longer being made. I loved the colors and my credit card could handle the price so . . . . . . .
It's not unusual for a color that has been discontinued and is hard to find to cost more than current colors which are easily found.
However, whatever the item, the bottom line is that seller set the price and buyers decide whether they want to pay that price or move on. This applies to eBay just as it does everywhere else in the US.

OP4 months agoDid I read about the yarn wrongly , but I feel $ 37. 85 is a bit steep for one skein. Please explain to me.
