Ask the buyer to open a not as described return request so that you can issue a return label. You then refund the buyer in full when you receive the return.
You sold the item as new, meaning it works as intended, so you must accept the return as it is not as described.
There was no way for the buyer to know it was defective without removing it from the packaging, so you cannot fault him for opening it.
If it does hold a charge when you receive it back, you can report the buyer for abusing the money back guarantee, but you must still issue a full refund.
