The reason that happens is:
-You have Auto-pay turned ON for Auctions
-You offer Combined shipping
You can turn Auto-pay OFF on this page near the bottom. Buyer management | eBay
There is a setting for both Auctions and Offers. What that does when ON is require Buyers to provide a payment method prior to bidding or participating in the Offer process. They have one hour after an auction ends OR an Offer is accepted by either party to change to a different payment method but either way they are charged and you get paid.
What eBay did was give Buyers who win on auction 7 days to pay or continue to shop if the Seller offers Combined shipping. That can be set up on this page: Shipping Preferences
Some of eBay's reasoning is to allow Buyers to take advantage of some savings on shipping if they win more auctions, even if it's 7 days later. They can also just checkout right away and pay BUT eBay gives them that longer time period to pay and possibly shop.
For myself, I have Auto-pay turned OFF but offer Combined shipping so the 7 day extension does not happen.

OP11 months agoThank you for your reply. Unfortunately, there is no option for Auto-pay on the page you referenced with the link. Again, unfortunately, eBay doesn't seem to have a remedy to a seller's problem.

Mentor11 months agoThis is because you allow for combined shipping. You would either need to no longer offer combined shipping or turn off the Auto Pay option for your auctions and make offer listings.
