On the Order Details Page- Within Box "What you Earned"........
On the Order Details Page- Within Box "What you Earned", It breaks down first What the Buyer Paid above that box then below it shows What you Earned. In that box, NORMALLY, because I always have my buyer pay the shipping costs, it never deducts any shipping from me. However, every once in a while, I would notice the past 2 and half years I have been selling on eBay that it would deduct the shipping charges from me, which makes my total less. I honestly do not believe it should be doing this because like I said in all my transactions (over 200), this has only happened maybe 15 times. With the new year now, I have made 4 sales so far and 3 of my 4 sales has subtracted the shipping amount from me, making my total less. I do NOT offer FREE SHIPPING. Why is it doing this to me??? I am confused. Can someone explain why it is happening now each time it seems?? I hope I am explaining myself well enough. I will type below what I mean:
Buyer Paid: 23.95
Shipping: $7.04
Sales Tax: $ 2.12
Total: $33.11
Order Total: $33,11
Sales Tax: $ -2.12
Transaction Fees: $-4.60
Shipping: $-7.04
Total: $19.39
That $7.04 should NOT have been subtracted from order total and it normally isn't. Why only sometimes does it get subtracted??? Please explain. If this has been in error each time, how do I recoup the monies that I have been losing???
Thank you in advance.

Hi Lori
The shipping cost should always be deducted from your proceeds.
When "the Buyer pays for shipping", that money is given to you/the seller.
- Then you pay for the shipping label.
You collected the $7.04 from the buyer and then paid USPS $7.04 for a label.
Here is another way of looking at your numbers which might be helpful:
Example $23.95 price + $7.04 shipping + $2.12 Sales Tax = $33.11 Total paid by Buyer
You get $23.95 + $7.04 = $30.99 (eBay handles sales tax)
- $4.60 (Selling fees)
- $7.04 (Shipping whatever the ACTUAL label costs.. could be $4.50 or $15.00)
$19.35 Net to you.
The shipping the buyer pays is added to your payout, and then the amount of the label is deducted from your proceeds.
If you look at your 'What you earned' before you buy the label, it won't show the $7.04 deduction. Once you buy the label it will be there.
Let me know if you have more questions.

OP9 months agoIf that is the case, then why 98% of the time is it NOT deducted??? Like I said, out of the majority of the sales I have had in the past 2 1/2 years shipping was NOT deducted from order totals. Just a handful of times. It is just NOW since January 1st I have made 4 sales and of those 4 sales, 3 of the 4 they deducted the shipping. I have sold hundreds of items before!!!

It is deducted 100% of the time when you buy your label on eBay.
If you buy your label on Pirate Ship it won't be there, since eBay isn't involved in that transaction.
Go back and look at the What You Earned for the past 25 items.
