On hold payments.
Hello. I just sold an item on eBay and the buyer paid quickly. However I got a message from eBay saying that they are holding the payment until November 14!!!!! What the heck! I need that money now for my family and I have to wait a month. The buyer already received the item and left me positive feedback. Does anyone know what is going on and how to rectify the situation. Thanks.

Mentor2 years agoHi @d.bane
Your funds are being held because the item sold for over $1000. I believe that eBay holds the funds of ALL sales over $1000. I'm not sure if contacting eBay will help release the funds. You can try to reach an eBay CS rep and let them know the buyer is satisfied with the item. [The reason for the hold is for the money to be readily available if the buyer requests a refund. Buyers have 30 days from delivery to apply for a refund.]

They'll hold the funds for 30 days.

Mentor2 years agoPayments are subject to holds for new sellers...particularly for high-priced items.Be sure you uploaded the tracking # to the order transaction.
