Offers on eBay
I noticed that some sellers are asking you to make offers for an item they are selling but it you offer just a few dollars less than what they want they reject your offer. For example someone was selling a brita pitcher and wanted $34 I offered $30 and they denied it another seller had a pair of converse sneakers they were asking $50 and I offered $45 and they denied my offer then I offered $48 and they still denied my offer. If they are asking for you to make an offer why are they denying it because they really don’t want to take your offer they want you to pay full price. So deceptive I won’t be dealing with seller that do this and I’ll be reporting this to eBay. So frustrating.

Sellers are not obligated to respond to offers.
The "Best Offer" button is on their listings because Ebay puts it there.

OP2 years agoThat’s not what am disputing if you place a make an offer on an item and you don’t get what your originally asking for then your being deceptive in placing the make an offer link. I’ve had that happen to me too many times it’s deceptive to ask someone to make an offer but in reality you won’t take an offer unless someone gives you what you want.

As has been explained, the seller has no control over the "Best offer" being placed on their listing page. Ebay places it on the page.

OP2 years agoNo that’s not true I had someone just answer me and they said, ‘what do you think we’re a charity’? Yeah are well aware.

Mentor2 years agoHi @titosmom21marisa Sellers are responsible for their listings. Some sellers are just idiots. There's nothing that can be done about them except to find another seller. Few things are so rare that there's only one or two sellers on eBay.

Both are bad sellers. If from the same seller, really a bad seller. If you did buy, odds are more problems would arise, like they'd never ship, or if they did, it would be some junk that didn't match the listing. If they can't pull off even the most basic customer service, who needs them. Millions of sellers on eBay want your business and will treat you right. Good luck!

OP2 years agoAhhh thank you so much for the words of encouragement and yes some sellers are a holes and they don’t deserve my business I buy on eBay at least once or twice a week!! Literally I shop on eBay all the times so these two fools are just what they are fools. Thank you so much your right about all what you said.

You haven't sold for longer than a year, so you probably don't know this. eBay has started automatically adding Best Offer to listings. They don't ask the seller's authorization, they don't even notify the seller ... they just do it. Many sellers resent this. The way to prevent eBay from adding the BO is for the seller to list using the advanced form. Some of them don't even know how. So give the guys a break, the presence of the BO link might not have been their doing.

OP2 years agoWell I contact the seller directly and the two I made an offer didn’t get back to me so that tells that they don’t really want you to make an offer but to pay the price they’re asking but this info you gave me is new to me.
