How come a seller's offer to a watcher (a person who has shown interest) is stated as "private" when, apparently, countless other "interested" watchers have also been contacted with the same offer? George Orwell would have chuckled at that one. More eBay double speak?

Mentor3 years agoOffers can be sent to multiple buyers at a time. Likewise, multiple buyers can make offers on an item listing and the seller can select the one he wants to take (or none at all).

OP3 years agoMy point precisely. Some level of "privacy" for the seller but none for the buyer. So why is it advertised as such?
