offering free shipping

Hi, I'm a new seller on eBay, and I received a message from a potential buyer about one of my listings. She wanted to use a $50 coupon on an item priced at $75, and she also requested free shipping. I found the option to offer free shipping, but the checkbox was greyed out, so I wasnâ€™t able to enable it. Instead, I suggested listing the item for $45, as the shipping was under $5. However, the buyer informed me that the coupon can only be used if the order is at least $50, so my workaround didnâ€™t work.

Can anyone explain how I can enable the free shipping option, or if thereâ€™s another way to resolve this?

There are two, big, red flags here.

First, when it comes to offers, the shipping is not negotiable. Whatever the shipping is in the listing now, is what the shipping is after the offer.

Second. What coupon is this Buyer referring to? Did you send out a $50 coupon? If not, who is going to pay for the $50 discount to her? Hopefully she's not expecting you to deduct $50 from the sale price just because she says she has a random $50 coupon. If she's telling you it's a coupon from eBay, I would tell her you need to contact eBay to confirm that.

My gut feeling is this Buyer is trying to take advantage of you because you are new. I would decline her offer.
