Offering Express Local Delivery as a 3rd Party Courier
If I am identifying a shipping option as express local delivery as a hired 3rd party courier does that protect me as a seller from potential buyer fraud for "Item not delivered' coverage under the Ebay's Money Back Guarantee? I have also created a seller disclosure outlining the specifics and policy info reiterating that they are hiring a 3rd party courier which places an item as no longer being covered under Ebay's Money Back policy. Further more if they do not follow the policy I have outline and the item is not able to be delivered but the delivery attempt was made do I have to refund the flat fee that was charged to them even if I disclosed it as non-refundable?

Mentor8 months agoIf the third party courier does not have online tracking ebay can access, then you will lose a not received dispute, regardless of what disclaimer you put in the listing.
If you want the buyer to hire a third party carrier you need to use the Local Pickup option for the buyer to choose. Then preferably the buyer hires the third party directly and gives you the pickup confirmation number before you release the item. Although you could still hire the courier yourself you still want the pickup confirmation code from the buyer before it is shipped.
