Offensive Material Policy
Ebay has removed my McCoy Planter for offensive material. It is a Black woman sitting on a flour scoop. I was careful not to put woman or black in the description. In the prior 60 days, 2 listings sold of the identical item. I used the link to create the listing from one of the sold listings. They will not explain the difference between my item and the sold items. I don't want to be offensive, but a search of "Black Memorabilia" on Ebay lists 159 listings. I also did a Google search and Ebay has an ad with the headline "Black Americana Collectibles for sale. Get the best deals on Black Americana Collectinles when you shop the largest online selection at eBay.com". Also, a search on Ebay for Playboy Magazine, Hustler Magazine and Sex Toys turns up plenty of offensive stuff (at least to me). Has anyone else had this issue and had it resolved? I have asked to be contacted by an actual human representative.

OP11 months agoThank you for your reply. It was very helpful. I have looked at Etsy and they have an active listing of the same item and I will list it there. I won't be reporting anyone elses listings. I believe on just moving on.

You are more than welcome! A wise choice. I recently reported four listings from one Seller that violated eBay's Keyword spamming policy. The Seller had many more and since they were in my categories I knew what I was talking about and reporting. The four reports were summarily rejected by eBay's AI system within minutes. My intention was NOT to have the listings removed but rather corrected so they would be fair listings in the marketplace. Obviously, I was disappointed.

Your listing removal story has been repeated over and over on eBay, we read about it here a lot. AI handles a lot of that now. The other thing that can and does happen is an offensive item gets past the listing process, sells but is then blocked from being purchased. If that happened to the item you used the Sell Similar feature on you never would have known that but eBay would of course.
Removed listings should be sold elsewhere, don't try to Relist it on eBay. As to other listing that may violate policy, there is a question mark link in the lower right hand corner of the eBay page when you open another Seller's listing and it leads to a choice to Report the listing.
